The car, a 2011 BMW, is totally destroyed. According to the police, the fire was preceded by an explosion. Splashes of glass extend over large areas of the parking lot.

Emergency services set off the fire of a car in Österäng in Kristianstad on Friday night.

A national bombing was then sent to the scene, when police suspected that the fire could have been triggered by some kind of explosion.

"The fire was fully developed when we got there, there was not much left of the car," said Hasse Lindell, head of the Kristianstad emergency services.

SOS Alarm was informed of the incident at a car park in Österäng at 23:17 and stated that the passenger car had been overturned. The emergency services extinguished the fire.

"It was a car that burned and no other person was directly threatened, she felt a bit lonely," Hasse Lindell said.

SOS Alarm also announced that car owners were moving similar cars.

No one should have been physically injured during the event. The police were in place.

"They have locked and are waiting impatiently," said Hasse Lindell.

"We do not really know what triggered the blaze, if there was any explosion.Techniques and the national bombing are about to investigate what is happening," said John Sjöblom, internal agent of Kristianstad police station, at 1:15.

The police initially made a general safety notification by explosion. Nobody was suspected early in the night before Saturday.

"We also talked to the plaintiff, he is very curious," said Sjöblom.

On Saturday morning, when the closures were lifted, he told the police that there had been an explosion, but that it was not necessarily intentional.

– Samples were used to analyze and search for explosives. Or it's an accident, maybe it's a gasoline leak that has exploded, "says John Sjöblom.

The complainant is not a threat to himself and does not appear in the police register, he said.
