Björkman, 61, who has been in recent months in Tel Aviv as a producer of the Eurovision contest, missed the final yesterday and could not leave the country before being exploited.
Björkman himself has uploaded a photo to Instagram where he is in the sick bed and follows the ESC broadcast on computer.
"Not at all expected, but I'm well taken care of and I was lucky on time Congratulations to the Netherlands and thank you to John Lundvik for this exciting drama," he writes.
Over the past five years, Björkman has been a producer for the Swedish Melodifestivalen and for the giant Eurovision event.
