It was in the morning of May 18 of last year that the message was that the 100% Swedish match between IFK Gothenburg and AIK was being dealt with. Dickson Etuhu, 36, joined AIK as a player for the 2015 season. He has already played for Manchester City, Sunderland, Fulham and Blackburn Rovers, as well as 20 national teams for Nigeria. He left AIK after the 2016 season and has since made some appearances for the IFK Rössjöholm division 5 club.
The police report
According to the pre – trial protocol of 473 pages, Dickson Etuhu and the other alleged man met Kenny Stamatopolous in a restaurant located near the AIK Training Center in Karlberg, Stockholm, on May 16, 2017. Oscar Linnér, his main goalkeeper, had suffered a loss, making it very likely that Stamatopolous, who was the goalkeeper, would start the match. Stamatopolous then discovered that the two men had bribed him to influence the outcome of the match and had told what he had been through AIK and his coach Rikard Norling. The club, in turn, chooses to make a police report and, last September, the prosecutor, Johan Lindmark, chooses to sue both men in court. Etuhu and the other accused man have in turn denied the crimes.
Stamatopolous was initially anonymous when the case was reported but chose in the fall of 2017 to appear in SportExpressen.
On Thursday, at nine o'clock, the main audience is opened in the Stockholm District Court. This is estimated at around 16:30 today.
