Fast Friday for firefighters – violent storms caused two forest fires

Friday at 6 pm, firefighters were in the southern position of Nås to extinguish a larger fire.

– I estimate that the front was 200m wide, says the chief of rescue Mattias Ström.

Due to a quick effort and good ground conditions, the firefighters managed to stop the dispersion before the fire entered the big forest. When the fire was largely under control, the next alarm arrived.

A Vansbro family who had been in the woods had seen how a powerful flash had been shot in a wooded area about three miles north of Vansbro. They could also see a later smoker in the area and then alert the rescue service.

The development of smoke was strong when firefighters entered the forest next to Kölaråsen

The Vansbro rescue service was recruiting a tank car from the Björbo fire department to the Flögsjöberget forest fires.

The Flögsjöberget fire was never as extensive and at 9 pm it was under control.
