"I heard a lazy muller, I looked out the window and I saw that," writes a reader to the newspaper.

Three smart filters exploded and caused a fire on Kährs on Sunday night. There are no more open flames, but rescue services are concerned that the fire has spread a large silo containing 20 tons of highly explosive material.

On Sunday evening, it was just after 8 pm that SOS had been alerted to the fire of the Kährs production plant in Nybro. Three smart filters on the roof of the pan had exploded.

"Two of them burned down completely, and there were a lot of incandescent fires," says Magnus Lindahl, emergency services.

Exploded filters, which look like large plate boxes, fire spread through wires.

"A large silo containing about 20 tonnes of wood powder and chips is standing side by side," said Magnus Lindahl.

The visible incandescent fires are extinguished, but only the large closed silon is of concern to the emergency services. There is always a risk of explosion.

"We are afraid that there are fires, Silon contains highly explosive materials because it is very finely divided.

Silon belongs to Kalmar Energy and it may be necessary to wait until Monday for the fire department to know whether it is hiding a fire in silon or not.

Rescue forces from Nybro, Orrefors, Alsterbro and Kalmar fought the fires, which were initially significant.

"There will be a big fire when they go in the air," says Magnus Lindahl.
