Car racing Sophia Flörsch, a 17-year-old Formula 3 driver who crashed violently in front of the Macau Grand Prix, left the hospital and returned home to Germany.

And she is happy and relieved to have survived the accident.

"I was born again on November 18 in Macau," she wrote on Facebook.

Flörsch successfully underwent a risky nine-hour operation on a damaged spinal cord. She now says that she's aiming to continue her running career.

"Now a new chapter is starting and I'm really looking forward to it, now the focus is on 2019," Flörsch writes.
