Margareta Hellgren, a general practitioner and researcher at the Närhälsan health center Södra Ryd, received this year's Diabetes Award. This is the first time that the award is awarded to a general practitioner.
– I was very happy, not only for my good, but also because general practitioners are recognized that type 2 diabetes is our field, she says.
