The University of Malmö, 292 days old, was able to organize its first university ceremony on Friday. 27 doctors were promoted with seven honorary doctors, including high-legged legend Patrik Sjöberg.
Fan Carrier has been paired with doctors, honorary doctorates, professors and a jubilee doctor on the Malmö Live stage.
The Malmö University was established on 1 July 1998. On the eve of the new year, 10 months ago, the university was transformed into Malmö University.
With the university status, new routines and celebrations follow.
What was called the Aarhus University High School became a university during the Malmö Academic Ceremony. A ceremony with a premiere on Friday, but dating back to the Middle Ages.
Friday, at 4 pm, a fan-carrier and an important academic follow-up took place in the big concert hall of Malmö Live.
"It's in many ways a pleasure to do research," said university professor Kerstin Tham at the very first academic ceremony of the University of Malmö.
"You can be very proud of your efforts," said University Secretary Kerstin Tham.
A total of 27 doctors and seven honorary doctors were promoted, including Patrik Sjöberg, with high heels. Behind this prize lies his fight against sexual abuse in sport.
Professor Jan Carlsson, Jubilee Physician, was created for his fifty-year-old dissertation on the importance of sugar in thick dental treatments. Two new professors were installed: Björn Johnson in social work and Tobias Olsson in media and communication.
Patriarch of the Supreme Court Patrik Sjöberg was one of seven honorary doctors promoted on Friday.
Doctors, honorary doctors and teachers were led on the pearls to receive the insignia: doctor's hats, rings, stores and diplomas.
The university choir and Malmö orchestra represented music, including Swedish jazz composition "To the mothers of Brazil".
Then, the festivities took on a freer form by mingling and picking themselves up in the recently renovated university building "Gäddan".
He became a doctor 50 years ago. Professor Jan Carlsson has now received the Jubilee Doctor Diploma from the Faculty of Dentistry, Dan Ericson.
