It will soon be raining • Up to 40 millimeters

The summer of 2018 has been the hottest in decades, and the number of rainy days can rely on the fingers of one hand.

Wonderful, many think – but this has also caused catastrophic problems. In large parts of the country, Swedish and foreign rescue services are fighting forest fires in record areas. The extreme drought has pushed farmers to kill their animals early and save the municipalities on the water.

Looking at the forecasts for the coming week, it does not seem "better". There will be no rain either – but by the end of July / August, it can finally happen if you believe the forecast. Message: The extreme heat continues in July 19459006

Rain arrives on the west coast

According to SMHI forecasts, the hot season will continue throughout the next week. Temperatures in southern Sweden are between 26 and 27 degrees at the beginning of the week, then rise to 30, and just a little later at weekends.

This applies in principle to Skåne County and Kronoberg County as a whole. The exception is the Blekinge coastal strip which may have some showers on Fridays and Saturdays.

In Halland, it will be another sunny and hot week with temperatures around 30 degrees all day, except Tuesday, when it seems to be the strongest of 24.

But – then it's raining. And it's true. According to SMHI, Hallandsborna can expect about 40 millimeters of rain Monday and Tuesday at the end of the month.

Even east and central Skåne can rely on showers of about 10 millimeters – with temperatures still around 25-26 degrees.

Småland's poor rainfall

Southern Skåne also receives rains at the end of the month, but slightly less.

However, for those who need water, it's dark if you live in Växjö and north of Småland.

The long-term forecast of 1.1 millimeters shows rain for the next ten days.

There may also be rain at the end of the month in the country. Stockholm can wait around 14 millimeters on Saturday and Sunday next week.

Närke, and the interior parts of Svealand, receive lighter rains during the same period. Even the Gothenburg region and the northwest coast can expect rain at the beginning of the month.

For Jämtland hardened by fire, the hangars will arrive next Sunday. Then, the forecast of SMHI show 11.6 millimeters, and also some rains during Monday. The coastal strip, from Sundsvall to Luleå, must also wait for the weekend because it is between 5 and 10 millimeters of rain. A little less in the inner parts of northern Norrland, which, however, receives a cloud cover with rain.
