Martin Smedberg-Dalence wanted to go home to Blåvitt: "Blank no"

After playing at IFK Göteborg between 2014 and 2017, Martin Smedberg-Dalence has chosen a new adventure in Bolivar's big Bolivian club.

The ambition was to win the league.

But the club failed and Smedberg-Dalence had a difficult end to the season.

– This was not as we had thought. We wanted to win the league and we did not do it. Then there was less play time for me at the end, he said about IFK Göteborg's first training for the year.

The contract with Bolivar has now expired and Blåvitt's profile will leave the club.

– I can think of what to do next. I have received an offer from another club in Bolivia that I will review – this is a very good proposal. Economically, it's really good. We will see, it may be that I return (in Bolivia) for another year.

But the fact is that Martin Smedberg-Dalence would have preferred to play at IFK Göteborg in 2019.

– If I had to be honest, I wanted to come back, but it was a non-virgin. Then I do not know who made that decision, but it was. That's my agent who's busy with that. I said that he would check if Blue White was interested because I did not need a lot. I had been a cheap player, I just wanted to go home and finish my career there. But you respect the decision of the club. Then a new door was opened and it is to return to Bolivia.

Homesick?

– Yes, it's clear. Leave well, but better at home. So you know, especially now that you are at home on Christmas and New Year. Of course, if I had decided, I would have come back here.

Do you have any contact with Blåvitt?

– Yes, I follow them all the time. I have contacts with both players and those who work in the association. Then I had all the Swedish channels in the apartment in Bolivia, so I followed the matches. But many of my relatives have now left the club, Emil Salomonsson and David Boo Wiklander, and it's a little boring.

– It's a young team, but you understand that you have to start all over again. The economy may not be the best of the association for many years, so you have to do something. That's the result, you get a young team.
