On Wednesday, several days in the country, the maximum measured temperature was 34.0 degrees, in Småland, Markaryd. Skånska Osby was not far behind with 33.7 in the shade.
The highest temperature measured for this year was July 16 in Uppsala, when the mercury in thermometers reached 34.4 degrees.
The possibility was that Thursday could become even hotter.

In the shadow
– There is a lot to do for that it reaches 35 degrees, but it is not impossible. It seems to be most places east of Svealand and east of Götaland. It will be very hot in Stockholm and Uppsala. Then we have measuring stations in Gladhammar and Målilla in the north of Kalmar County, where it is very hot, like Norrköping in Östergötland.

The heat record for this year was reached by three tenths – Hästveda in the north of Skåne had 34.6 Thursday. Followed by Uppsala with 34.3 and Eskilstuna with 33.9
In two places in the country, there was a new local record: Helsingborg 33.2 and Växjö 33.6.
Very hot even during Friday
And the heat continues during Friday
– It is not impossible that we reach up to 34 degrees Friday in East Götaland, said Lasse Rydqvist.
A consequence of the extreme hood can mean a tropical night.
– Stockholm has been very hot for quite some time, and it could be a tropical night at night. This means that the temperature is not less than 20 degrees.

On the other hand, the coming weekend seems to be wet. The rain, according to the forecasts, will fall in many directions – something that is expected for a long time, especially in places where forest fires make the worst:
– It is very good that we have a small hangar the Saturday. Say the rain like most people in the country seem to get used to, says Lasse Rydqvist.
On Saturday, Svealand is looking for lots of hangars. During Sunday, it is mainly the Southwest. Perhaps the rain may be a little difficult to reach the islands, Öland and Gotland, and the north Norrland coast.
New heat wave next week
After the week's rains, the sun, heat and drought return back
– It continues on the same track as before. Next week it will be 30 degrees south and at least 25 in the north. Even northern Norrland can get closer to 30 degrees.
Do you have any tips on how to handle the extreme hood?
– Drink and bring more water than you think you should do. We must also stay in the shade, of course. A cold shower has almost the opposite effect – it only makes us sweat more afterwards. It's better with temperate water.
