A new type of mosquito net on the bed can be used to test the resistance of malaria-resistant mosquitoes to a common insecticide, according to a UK study of 15,000 children in Tanzania.
The mosquito net is prepared with a special chemical that blocks the mosquitoes' defense against the pyrethroid.
The study is published in the scientific journal The Lancet. The results have already been communicated to the World Health Organization (WHO) to recommend the use of mosquito nets.
