Platini released after interrogation – Sport

soccer Michel Platini was released by the French police.

The former UEFA president was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of corruption over Qatar. He had won the Football World Cup in 2022. After many hours of questioning, the 63-year-old journalist was allowed to leave the arrest just before 01:00.

Platinum lawyer William Bourdon says his client is innocent and refuses any information that it was an arrest.

It was very difficult for nothing, he said when Platini left the police station.

Platini was the former president of the European Football Association (2007-2015), but was suspended from all football-related activities in recent years. Suspicions of corruption have existed since December 2, 2010, when Russia won the 2018 World Cup and the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
