entertainment A statue depicting Marilyn Monroe was stolen from her place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, reports NBC Los Angeles.
The statue, which was at the top of the steel work "Four Hollywood Ladies", represents the actor in the famous skirt scene of the film "The Girl on Top".
A witness saw someone go up and see the statue, said councilman Mitch O. Farrell at NBC Los Angeles.
The work was created to pay tribute to prominent women in the film industry. In addition to Marilyn Monroe, Dolores Del Rio, Dorothy Dandridge, Mae West and Anna May Wong are also represented.
Mitch O 'Farrell told NBC Los Angeles that they should do everything in their power to find the perpetrator of the crime.
