Sweden has become a country of right

As expected, the Liberals chose to take over the center party. On Wednesday, Jan Björklund held a press conference in which he also opened to free Stefan Löfven as Prime Minister. Just like C, L has a short list of requirements to be transferred to Löfven. However, the only strong claim mentioned by Björklund was the removal of the social tax.

He has his explanation. Unlike C, L can not afford an additional choice; the cashier is void and the risk of the party is imminent. Therefore, Björklund is keen to reach an agreement with S. Värnskatten, which has long been a liberal profile issue, is the discount that S is probably the easiest to accept.

The lion will be forced into a spagat

For S now opens a desired opportunity to break the blocking policy. It is the occasion that Löfven has been waiting for years. If S succeeds in establishing budget cooperation with C and L, the alliance belongs to history and the risk of a new bourgeois hegemony with the support of sustainable development is eliminated.

Therefore, from a strategic point of view of power, it's incredible news for S. It's just that the price of the police seems to be exorbitant. The list of demands C has made to Löfven is undoubtedly a declaration of war against all the social democrats who claim to be politically active.

The proposals were not even heard at the time when Anders Borg (M) was Minister of Finance. Therefore, a South African government is supposed to pursue a far right reform policy of the one that led the Reinfeld Treaty. If you play with the idea that, despite this, S would accept the terms, what would remain of Social Democracy?

Löfven must also listen to the wishes of more parties. The leftist party Jonas Sjöstedt made it clear on Wednesday that he would require political influence to tolerate a new government led by S.

It's hard to see how Stefan Löfven can fall into a spagat able to convince C and V at the same time.

It is likely to be very rare and expensive

One thing is already clear. Sweden has become a right-wing country. It does not matter whether the next Prime Minister is Ulf Kristersson or Stefan Löfven, it's the right policy on the menu. This is a remarkable change in the political situation.

This is fundamentally good news, as Sweden has to make far-reaching structural reforms in key areas. Tax reform increasing the driving forces to work would be welcome, as would a housing reform that would reverse the utility system.

But there are big questions about the layout as it is now described. For example, will the environmental party be part of the löfwe government? In this case, it will still be difficult to control areas such as migration and public order.

And who should really assume overall responsibility for economic policy when four of them, separate parties, will pass their political agenda? It is likely to be very rare and expensive.

An S + M government would be much better equipped to face the challenges facing Sweden.
