The Sago Sagar Sagobygden project in Ljungby is included in the UNESCO Register of Good Practices for the Preservation of Traditions. This award means that Sagobygden's method of preserving the tradition of the oral narrator will be used as a model for other countries.

The project is run by the Berättarnätet Kronoberg association and communicates information about the sagas and sagas of the folkloric empire. A narrative festival takes place in Ljungby, and there is also a fairy tale museum.

"The extensive work of sagas and oral storytelling is an excellent example of how an organization can nurture, disseminate and develop intangible cultural heritage. It is gratifying that Unesco draws attention to the work done by Sagobygden, "said Minister of Culture Alice Bah Kuhnke in a press release.

Sagobygden is the first example in Sweden. In Norway, a boat building center is already in the register, which should not be confused with the list of intangible cultural heritage of Unesco, where Sweden has not yet received price.
