For adults who wish to invest in the industry, a new education will begin: an industrial base of 700 secondary school credits.
"It's a huge and exciting undertaking," said Jonas Hagelqvist, CEO of IKEM and representatives of the Industry Council.
It is aimed at people over 20 years old and is a new product made to measure yrkesvuxutbildning through the Värmland Vocational Training Industry. It is a unique collaboration between employers and education. Behind this initiative are all Dutch-speaking municipalities, industrial companies, the trade union and the Värmland region.
"Can we now do this together in a smart and efficient way, so it's great for Värmland," said Stina Höök (M), Värmland region.
Missing work
Only in Värmland, the sector employs 250 people each year. The idea of education is that it will offer high quality studies and good conditions for post-employment employment.
– The industry is struggling to find work. We have to do something and we have been discussing it for a number of years. Finally, we were stuck in what we are doing now, a regional industrial council, says Boo Rundquist, Project Manager at the Värmland Industrial Council.
The teaching will take place in Arvika, Hagfors, Karlstad and Sunne. Later in 2019, it will also be possible to search Kristinehamn.
