A major power outage occurred shortly before 10 am in northern Stockholm. A cable belonging to Vattenfall would be broken. A large number of households have been affected.

– A little over 7,000 customers in Sundbyberg are concerned. The power outage started at 9:53, said Mikael Björnér, Mellansverige's press officer at Vattenfall.

He added that fewer people in Solna suffered a power failure.

At 10:20 there was staff on site who had started working on the problem.

– We have staff in place for malpractice. But we have no prediction when it is clear, he says.

The power outage was caused by an excavator destroying a cable in the ground. According to Mikael Björnér, this is a recurring problem in field work.

– It is a general problem for us that this type of event occurs.

At 11:09, the problem was solved and the affected customers were turned back on, according to Mikael Björnér.
