The energy company Fortum won a tax dispute before the Stockholm Administrative Court. Kraftjätten thus avoids paying tax increases totaling SEK 482 million for the 2014 and 2015 financial years, writes Fortum in a press release.
The reaction of the stock market is limited. Fortum's share increases by 0.2% on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
It is unclear whether the tax authorities will appeal the verdict.
The dispute concerned Fortum's right to make interest deductions for intragroup loans.
"Fortum has not made any reservations or additional tax payments when the notice of taxation is disputed. Therefore, the affirmative decision of the administrative court has no bearing on the results or cash flow, "writes Fortum.
