Hundreds of people have been to Knypplanskogen for the past three days to get a bird's eye view. This is the very first time that the wilson beetle is discovered in Sweden.
– When bird watchers began to believe that it could be a beetle wilson, it started, said Jan Wärnbäck, ornithologist.
He says it is a species found throughout North America and that it flies south in the winter. But he may end up being wrong during his trip, which has already happened in this case.
Similarities with Beetle
There is another species of bird similar to the wilson beetle, but the leaves are different.
– It's similar to the simple beetle but the legs are very specific and you really hear a difference between the two species, says Jan Wärnbäck.
Anita Karlsson is an amateur birdwatcher and she was up early Wednesday morning.
– It was fun to see that and I had hoped to do it, she said.
