In Spain, three tourists were infected with the Chikungunya virus for the first time. The carriers of the disease usually non-fatal but sometimes extremely painful are the tiger mosquitoes of the species Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. Anti-mosquito sprays, such as ANTI BRUMM forte pharmacy, recommended by the Swiss Tropical Institute, provide reliable protection against these native tropical mosquito species.
The chikungunya virus has so far been mostly prevalent in many African countries as well as in the south and southeast of Asia. It is the causative agent of a disease that causes joint pain, which can lead to fever, severe pain and stiff joints for one to two weeks. In Europe, the virus appeared for the first time in Italy, then in France, and has now reached Spain. In the absence of vaccine or targeted treatment against the virus, only carriers of the disease – yellow fever and tiger mosquito can be protected. The problem: Tiger mosquitoes are diurnal, so the use of mosquito nets is rather discouraged and that wearing long clothes is not always available.
The most effective measures therefore include insect repellents such as the Anti-Brumm Forte recommended by the Swiss Tropical Institute. The anti-mosquito pharmacy, mainly purchased in Germany, contains the substance recommended by WHO by the DEET and reliably protects up to six hours of domestic and tropical mosquitoes. The Stiftung Warentest (5/2017) has once again awarded Anti Brumm Forte a very good product performance in the anti-mosquito category.
