The cantonal police of Solothurn, since September 2018, has received a dozen reports from the environment in Olten, according to which counterfeit bills of 50 euros would have been put into circulation by strangers in various stores. In the region of Solothurn, counterfeit money in the form of a 200 franc note has also appeared in a post office.
The police call for caution and give the following advice:
Check the authenticity:For cash payments, check the authenticity of the bills.
Impressive appearance: Memorize the appearance and texture of real notes. So, you can recognize counterfeits instead.
Check: If in doubt about the authenticity of the banknotes, have them checked immediately by a bank or a bureau de change.
