On the A1 motorway between St. Gallen-Winkeln and Uzwil, there were four rear-end collisions on Tuesday in the morning traffic. Three people were slightly injured, the material damage exceeding 40,000 francs.
The four accidents occurred shortly after 6:30 am, according to information from the cantonal police of St. Gallen. This concerns seven passenger cars, a semi-trailer and two delivery vans.
The trailer is crushed on the back
A motorist had passed a semi-trailer between St. Gallen and Gossau. When she brought her car from the express lane to the standard gauge, the truck driver had to slow down. The trailer bounced off the back of the car, which spun and crashed against the center plank.
As a result, partly because of congestion after the first accident, there were three additional collisions. A 23-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were injured and were taken to hospital by the emergency services. A 34-year-old woman went to the doctor alone.
