Thomas Sedlaczek, dispatcher of the Leimgruber logistics company in Pratteln, worked for many years as a driver. "It was probably enough to turn the steering wheel to the right," she thought. "In addition, the driver was probably scared and had to deal with the situation," continued Zahnd. She also suspects that the consequences for the truck would have been less severe if the vehicle had struck him elsewhere.

With 3D scanner and drone

To analyze the accident, the Basel-based police used state-of-the-art funds. It is only since this year that she also has a 3D scanner. "With this device, the crash site can be measured judicially," said police spokesman Adrian Gaugler. In addition, a drone was also used to record the facts with which the crash site could be removed from the air and also measured. "In addition to patrols of the security police, accident group specialists can also be mobilized, depending on the event," said Gaugler.

The results of the investigation into the accident are still under lock and key, as the criminal order procedure is not yet complete.
