The number one of the most popular phones this year is still the iPhone. Apple has even been able to expand its position in Switzerland by 3 percentage points to 44%. Samsung had to give up its sources. Market share increased from 39 to 36%.

Short time of use
However, the devices are not used for long. One-third of users switch to another model in less than one year, plus two-fifths after one to two years. Only one-fifth use the phone for at least three years.
But what happens to old devices? According to Comparis, a third of respondents dusted their mobile phones at home. Nearly half of 18 and 35 year olds do it this way. This is not recommended, according to Frick. "The production of smartphones requires a high proportion of rare raw materials, so you absolutely have to dispose of old cell phones properly or continue using them and do not let them dust in the drawer.
Frick therefore recommends entrusting mobile phones to the supplier or the manufacturer. This pays off financially: Apple or Samsung reimburse a certain price on the returned mobile phone when buying a new device.
