Norway's Magnus Carlsen has successfully defended his world title in London. The 27-year-old beat his opponent, American Fabiano Caruana, a year-old, with 3-0 points in quick chess. The decisive game had become necessary because the two best chess players of the previous 12 rounds with the classic time had each played a draw.

Carlsen's pressure continues to increase

Carlsen is the world number 1 since 2011 and has been wearing the World Cup crown since 2013. The reversal of his point of view, he put the quick failures with a surprisingly clear 25 minute thinking time per player.

In the first game of the decision, Caruana had to give up after 55 moves. The challenger was then forced to play offensively and quickly launched a counterattack. After only 28 moves, he had to congratulate Carlsen for a 2-0 lead. Finally, the Norwegian won again with Weiss, also because Caruana with unconventional movements took a big risk.
