Five people died in the conflict between Israel and Hamas. After deadly blasts of Palestinian militants at the border of a soldier, the Israeli army has bombed several targets in the Gaza Strip with fighter jets and tanks. At least four Palestinians have been killed in the southern part of the coastal strip, the Gaza Ministry of Health said.

According to the Hamas military department, three of those killed were members of the organization. Residents reported several serious explosions in Gaza City. The Israeli Air Force attacked Hamas military posts.

The Israeli army confirmed "a large-scale attack by Israeli fighters against Hamas military targets throughout the Gaza Strip." Fifteen military targets were hit at the headquarters of a Hamas battalion in Saitun, in the northern Gaza Strip.

UN Envoy: "Returning from the Abyss"

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu advised military leaders on how to proceed Friday evening at a meeting of Emergency in Tel Aviv with military leaders. Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman previously said that Hamas was pushing Israel with all its might for a "wide and painful military offensive".

A spokesman for the Israeli army directly threatened the Hamas leader in Gaza. Military Communications Officer Avichai Adrai, head of communications in Arabic, contributed to the image of Jihia al-Sinwar, the Hamas leader in Gaza. "Where am I? What's waiting for me?", He said.

Al-Sinwar has put the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip in trouble by "no stupid", it's hot. "It is important to remember that no one involved in terrorism enjoys immunity". In the past, Israel deliberately killed several prominent members of Hamas.

The UN's special envoy to the Middle East, Nickolaj Mladenov, who recently worked intensely with Egypt to calm the situation, wrote: I need to take a step back from the abyss, not next week, not tomorrow, now! Those who "want to provoke Palestinians and Israelis to make another war must not succeed," writes Mladenov.

Demonstrations at the Gaza border

In the conflict, Palestinians call for the end of the Gaza blockade imposed more than a decade ago and a right of return to Israeli territory. They refer to the flight and the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of people following the founding of Israel in 1948.

In the summer of 2014, Israel and Hamas were confronted for fifty days. 2250 Palestinians were killed or later died of their wounds, and 74 were killed on the Israeli side.

Friday saw demonstrations again along the Gaza border. According to eyewitnesses, the Palestinians burned tires, attempted to damage the border fence with Israel and sent fire-dragons and balloons into Israeli territory. According to the paramedics, several Palestinians were wounded by Israeli gunfire.
