The Commons Foundation plans to build the farm near the Itaipu hydroelectric plant, located on the border with Brazil. The plant is one of the most powerful in the world with an annual output of 103.1 terawatt hours (TWh). As a result, the farm is largely immune to energy bottlenecks.
