The Aarau artificial ice rink, located in the municipality of Suhr, has been completely renovated for 20 million francs and was inaugurated in November 2016. Due to an error made by the city authorities of Aarau, the artificial ice rink had to close at 4:30 pm in the winter of 2017. Sports clubs could not train at night in the hall.
In the first building permit procedure, instead of the desired duration of operation, the opening date of the general skating was indicated in the application. The authorities of the city of Aarau tried to quell the mistake by filing a second building permit application.
In the summer of 2017, Suhr City Council approved the extension of operating hours as a temporary solution. The room can now be used until 10 pm.
The building application, which had been requested for extended opening hours in February 2016, had not yet been approved at the opening of the artificial ice rink. Nevertheless, the managers of Keba AG left the ground and the rink open much longer for the game and skating activities, as they allowed the hours of operation then in force.
In July 2017, the Prosecutor's Office of Aargau filed an anonymous complaint about this directed against the officials of Keba and against the Suhr City Council. (SDA)
