The sticker will be valid from December 1 of this year to January 31, 2020, provided that it is affixed to the vehicle in the prescribed position, as announced Thursday by the Federal Customs Administration.
For passenger cars, this is the inside of the windshield and, for trailers and motorcycles, easily accessible and non-replaceable parts.
In the near future, it should be possible to pay the national road tax electronically. After criticizing the consultation, however, the Federal Council decided to introduce the electronic vignette on a voluntary basis. The Ministry of Finance should develop a model for this purpose by mid – 2019.
What else you need to know:
- The 2019 vignette is sky blue and costs 40 francs. It is only valid for the vehicle on which it was glued. Any removal and reinstallation on the same vehicle or on any other vehicle is prohibited.
- It is not forbidden to sell surplus thumbnails not used in the classified advertising market or via an internet platform. Often, however, vignettes already used and thus devalued or prepared are proposed. Who uses such a sticker, makes himself punishable.
- The sticker can be obtained at the service stations and garages, at the post office counters, from the road authorities and customs offices.
- Drivers and drivers are required to remove carious decals from the windshield to avoid potential obstructions.
