On Saturday, April 13, 2019, shortly before 12:30 pm, there was a man in Zollikofen (municipality of Münchenbuchsee) who was the victim of a serious work accident. According to preliminary findings, the prosecutor informed Bern-Mittelland that the man had been stuck when opening an automatic sliding gate for reasons to be clarified.
Despite the quick rescue measures taken by the immediate intervention forces, the Swiss canton of Bern, aged 49, died instantly. In addition to the Cantonal Police of Bern and the Bern-Mittelland Prosecutor's Office, an ambulance team, the Bern firefighters, the Münchenbuchsee firefighters and the Bern canton health team were also present.
