Ford must recall more than 800,000 pickups in North America because of the risk of fire. A cable failure could damage the engine block heater of the top-selling models, the F-150 and others.

The second largest automaker, Ford, has ordered approximately 874,000 pickup trucks in North America due to fire hazards in the shops. This affects the most recent vintages of the F-150, the best-selling, and other models of the F-series.

Due to a cable failure, the block heater could be damaged, Ford warned in a Friday (local time) message. There are three known cases in which this problem caused a fire in vehicles. But you do not know any injury. Ford dealers should now check that the cable is intact and replace it if necessary.

According to Ford, 463,793 of the recalled cars relate to the Canadian market, 410,289 to the United States. The US auto giant had announced in September for North America a reminder of about two million pickup trucks for the dangers of smoke and fire. At that time, it was also the F-150. There was a problem with seat belts where there was a risk of excessive sparks on the belt tensioners. (SDA)
