The ban is for students under 15 years of age and enters kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools. The purpose of the ban should be that students should be able to focus better on lessons without being distracted by cell phones at school. The opposition considers the new regulation as a deceptive solution. Republican members had criticized the bill in previous deliberations as "completely useless" – the ban is not workable in practice. The representatives of the Socialists spoke of a "purely cosmetic" measure. Even parents criticize the new law. Apparently above all because they have the habit of being able to reach their children at all times.
