Twice already, we can celebrate the world premiere of the third generation Kia e-Soul at the Los Angeles Auto Show. In Europe, this will only be proposed in the future in a purely electric version. Visually, as well as technical data, the current generation of e-Soul still has a lot to do: new chassis, new entertainment and assistance technologies and, most importantly, a significantly more powerful electric propulsion. Kia e-Soul: notable technical innovations compared to its predecessor

For the battery, the e-Soul uses a liquid-cooled lithium-ion polymer battery with a capacity of 64 kWh. In direct comparison with its predecessor (30 kWh battery), this means a much greater autonomy. In addition, the third generation of the Kia e-Soul sits on a new chassis with multi-link rear axle – in place of the previous generation torsion beam rear axle. It offers four settings (Comfort, Sport, Eco, Eco +), depending on whether driving pleasure or energy efficiency should be in the foreground. Driving modes also have an influence on the regenerative braking system, the air conditioning and the maximum possible speed.

Rocker switches on the steering wheel can be used to adjust the regenerative braking system, which converts kinetic energy into electrical energy during braking or taxiing, charging the battery (four levels). It includes a "braking and holding" function, which is also activated via the paddles of the steering wheel and brakes the e-Soul exclusively by recovery to the state.
