In terms of operating systems, Google's Android system is the most prevalent in Switzerland, as shown in the survey released Wednesday by Comparis Comparisons. 56% of smartphone owners use an Android device, compared to 54% the year before. 44% have an iPhone after 41% the year before.
In Android phones, Nokia is striking. The Finnish manufacturer of mobile phones ranks fourth with a usage rate of 3%, according to the study. Nokia has surpassed its competitor Sony. In this case, the utilization rate was cut in half from 4% to 2%. Huawei defended third place. Contrary to the global trend, the world ranking however holds only a market share of 8% in Switzerland.

The top two ranks continue to share Apple and Samsung by far. Apple gained 3% over the previous year (from 41 to 44%). Meanwhile, Samsung left 3 percent of feathers (39 to 36 percent).

Small long users
The vast majority of Swiss have recently changed device: a third of respondents have the current smartphone for less than a year. 44% say they own the device for one to two years. And only one in five uses the phone for 3 years or more. (SDA)
