The officer was taken to Salisbury Hospital for special medical examinations after visiting a hospital in Swindon, some 65 kilometers away. A spokesman confirmed that he had sought medical advice on the incident in the nearby town of Amesbury.

A couple from Amesbury had been admitted to the clinic last Saturday with poisoning in Nowitschok. Investigators assume that the 45-year-old man and his 44-year-old girlfriend accidentally came in contact with the deadly poison. They should continue to be in critical condition.

The couple from Amesbury may have found a vial or syringe containing the remains of the poison used in the assassination scripts. British media reported that both were drug addicts.

Former Russian double agent Sergej Skripal, 67, and his daughter Julia, 33, were found unconscious four months ago on a Salisbury bench. They have barely escaped death and are now living in a secret place. They were also treated at the Salisbury District Hospital. (SDA)
