This winter season, even more skiers will find their way to Andermatt by bus. For this to work, the ski area offers even more connections. Basel and Ticino also arrive directly.

The ski resort Andermatt-Sedrun is expanding its offer of bus services to the winter sports area. New, enthusiastic winter sports bus companies also come from Ticino and Basel to Urserental.

In cooperation with Autopostale Ticino, a connection will be established from Chiasso, Lugano and Bellinzona to Andermatt, as announced Wednesday the ski center. The ski buses of Aarau, Zurich, Lucerne and Altdorf have already proved their worth.

Even faster at the destination

For example, last year about 1,500 people arrived by ski bus, said spokesman Stefan Kern. Expect a significant increase in this number, on the one hand from visitors to Ticino, on the other hand, thanks to Zurich's new, faster route.

Buses from Stans NW, Lenzburg AG, Baden AG, Olten SO as well as various train stations around Basel to Andermatt will be available for the coming winter season. Buses run on weekends, during school holidays and school holidays several times a week. In addition, direct buses depart from and to Flüelen UR, with connections to direct trains from Zurich and Zug.

Free rides theoretically possible

The offer can be booked with a day pass for the ski area until the evening before at a fixed price. Andermatt-Sedrun knows a dynamic price system for tickets. It may therefore be theoretical that the bus ride is free depending on the current cost of the ski pass for the customer. In any case, you drive cheaper than by public transport, said Kern. (SDA)
