Tuesday in St. Gallen, the lawsuit against a couple began and is accused of the intentional murder of his daughter. They denied neglecting the child.
(SDA) The parents of the deceased daughter – a 35-year-old German and a 55-year-old Swiss citizen – are believed to have violated their parental obligations and neglected their daughter partly because of their drug use.
More specifically, they are accused of not having fed their daughter in a manner appropriate to their age and to have allowed her to do enough physical exercise. In addition, they should have neglected the medical care, physical hygiene and social contacts of the one – year – old girl.
In addition, according to the charges, the two children would have left the baby unattended for several hours alone at home. This negligence should ultimately have led to the death of the girl.
"The house was always clean"
The Rorschach District Court had moved the audience because of the high public interest for the large hearing room of the Cantonal Court of St. Gallen. On Tuesday, the court interviewed the accused. The 55-year-old father does not want to know anything about negligence. He trusted the mother of the common child. The accused stated:
"The house was always clean, the child dressed healthy and soft."
The girl had slept a lot, they were with her but also outside. Asked by the court why the parents never went to see the doctor with the child, the man replied, "I am not in education."
Death not treated yet
The president of the court said that the man was probably more concerned about his dog than his daughter. The dog even had accident and sickness insurance. The accused, however, stated: "My child was my only one".
In retrospect, we are always smarter, he said. He still has not dealt with the death of his daughter. The parents are still living today in the house where the body of the child was found in the basement on August 4, 2015.
The accused did not want to say anything about drug use. He is accused of having bought three kilograms of cocaine from a dealer. He should have consumed himself two kilos, a kilo of his girlfriend.
Cocaine in the girl's hair
The 35-year-old was initially talkative in court. She spoke about her three children from previous relationships, her experiences as a prostitute, and her future: "I want to go back to nursing," she said.
Because of her current partner, she had drawn a line under her past before pregnancy. After the birth of her daughter, she was a housewife. "We have led a normal life," she said. You have a maternal instinct and do not need a pediatrician:
"I automatically know what is good for the child."
She did not want to say anything about drug use. Why was in the girl's hair dead from cocaine residue, she was a mystery. After the death of the child, she panicked. Out of fear, she had wrapped the body in a suitcase and put it in the cellar.
Heavily neglected from the beginning
He goes to court today for the short life and death of the girl, even less than two years old, said the prosecutor in court: "at birth, it was healthy." Already from the baby, the child has been seriously neglected. Responsible are the parents. "Just as he bought powdered milk for his daughter, he bought cocaine for his life partner and for himself."
The father did not take care of the child. He deliberately left the girl crying and patting her room. "He does not want to notice the death of his own daughter."
The mother has increasingly protected the child from the environment. When her daughter died, she did not ask anyone for help. The prosecutor said:
"She treated the dead child as a trash."
Long prison sentences required
