The second Swiss telecom operator, Sunrise, is making progress in the area of the 5G network. For several months, the latest Internet generation from Zurich-Oerlikon has been tested. Frequency auction in January
Swisscom also counts on the fast technology of the future. In the meantime, she also tests for Burgdorf BE in Lucerne, Zurich, Bern, Lausanne and Geneva. A new expansion is planned for the end of the year.
The next important appointment of 5G is in January. Then, the auction for the new mobile frequencies takes place. This was announced by the Comcom of the competent Federal Communications Commission in the middle of the year (Blick report).
Until the beginning of October, telecommunication companies could submit their application files. The minimum price will be 220 million francs if there is a demand for all frequencies.
