The eight boys rescued from a cave in Thailand are doing well. Doctors at Chiang Rai Provincial Hospital reported minor lung infections in two children. They received antibiotics, said a spokesman for the Ministry of Health, but were "in a normal state".
Overall, footballers would be in good health, no one has a fever. The first four young people have already been allowed to see their families. However, all eight should stay at the clinic for another week of observation, where they are still quarantined for safety reasons.
Four boys and their adult caregivers are still stuck in the cave – now for 17 days and nights (find out more about the situation here). Early in the morning, the next rescue operation began: special divers are again trying to save the remaining five members of the football team trapped in the flooded cave of northern Thailand.
According to the authorities, the action is underway since 10:08 local time (05:08 German time). All five must be rescued at the same time, as stated operations officer Narongsak Ossothankorn: "We plan to release the four boys and the coach."
The road to the Outside is almost four kilometers. The bailout is also a fight against the weather, especially as heavy rains have started in the region bordering Myanmar. In Southeast Asia is currently the monsoon season. It is feared that rain can quickly increase the water in the cave, so that the rescue effort must be stopped. It is still unclear whether the authorities are trying to save the other five trapped people later in the day.
The team of twelve boys and one adult was traveling two and a half hours ago to Tham Luang-Khun Nam Nang cave. The weeks have been surprised by the masses of water.

In Thailand, the fate of young footballers has sparked a lot of solidarity. On Monday evening, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha visited the assistants to get an idea of the situation.
Meanwhile, contractor Elon Musk provided rescuers with a newly developed mini-submarine. The 47-year-old reported on Twitter, he was now in the cave complex himself. The submarine was named "Wild Boar", it's the name of the football team. Until now, divers have not used the offer. Musk had also received criticism for his offer. Many have accused of wanting to advertise.
The rescue operation is very dangerous. In some places, the road is so narrow that divers must unbuckle their bottles of breath. In addition, visibility in cloudy water is extremely limited. In preparation for the mission, an experienced Thai diver drowned Friday
Now, two rescuers each take the boys, none of whom can dive properly. All wear diving suits and are equipped with diving goggles. The professionals provide air to the children.
In total, more than a thousand rescuers are involved. The core team consists of 18 special divers, most of them coming from countries like Australia and the United Kingdom.
