The Baden National Council and lawyer Thierry Burkart will defend the Philipp Mueller headquarters in the autumn 2019 national elections for the FDP Aargau. Burkart triumphed at a party conference held Thursday night at Dottikon AG against the Matthias Jauslin National Council.
Thierry Burkart participates in the race of the Council of States for FDP. Burkart counted for 154 votes against 38 for Jauslin.
Burkart was elected to the National Council in 2015. Until then, the political career of Baden's lawyer was proceeding as planned: he spent 14 years at the Grand Council, which he chaired in 2014 For three years he was president of FDP Aargau. Burkart is Vice President of Touring Club Switzerland (TCS).
In the next national elections in October 2019, the two former advisers of Aargau Pascale Bruderer (SP) and Philipp Müller (FDP) will no longer be present. Up to now, several parties have registered for both seats.
