An elderly hiker disappeared last Thursday night on the Uetliberg. Police in the city of Zurich have now stopped searching for her.
Last Thursday, Beatrice Wyler disappeared. The 90-year-old had disappeared since a hike on Uetliberg with a group of hikers. The woman was last seen on Gratstrasse, also called Planet Path.
Until now, his research has not succeeded and must be halted, as announced by the police of the city of Zurich.
Wyler was reported missing at 7 pm by the group leader. With the conductor and five other people, she was at noon at the mountain station "Felsenegg" in the direction of Uetliberg. About two kilometers before the finish at "Uto-Kulm", she remained alone on a park bench.
The helicopter could fly once
Already an hour after the death notice, about ten Polzisten were found with assistance dogs in the affected area after the disappearance of the woman. After midnight, the search for rough terrain had to be interrupted for security reasons.
The next day, searches continued with about fifty officials, several specialized assistance dogs and employees of the Stallikon fire department in thick fog.
On Saturday, a helicopter equipped with a thermal imaging camera was used. At the same time, dozens of police were involved in the Uetliberg search operation. Even with a drone, the area was stolen. Until Tuesday, searches were unsuccessful. Because the Uetliberg is still shrouded in fog, the police helicopter can no longer be used today on Wednesday.
If weather conditions permit, it will be decided in the coming days if a search flight can still be done. Should this action also fail, the Zurich Municipal Police Command must stop the search for the missing woman. All incoming messages will continue to be verified. (Man)
