Goodbye TVision, we hardly knew you. On April 29, T-mobile will end its live tv streaming service, which was launched five months ago. Instead, the mobile operator will partner with other services, namely Philo and YouTube TV, by offering $ 10 off the price of their monthly subscription.

TVision was one of several services aimed at providing regular live TV channels to cord cutters. Its basic Vibe package costs just $ 10 per month, making it the cheapest leading live TV streaming service and a excellent price / performance ratio for T-mobile customers who want to access live television without having to purchase a cable subscription. The intensive packages offered more channels, including local stations, starting at $ 40 per month.

The new discounts are now available to all current TVision customers and will roll out to new T-Mobile and Sprint customers from April 6. at $ 55 per month. Current customers also get a free month of YouTube TV or Philo, depending on the package chosen. The operator says the TVision Hub, a streaming device powered by Android TV, will work with Philo and YouTube TV.

TVision was launched amid controversy, with three of its partner networks – Discovery, ViacomCBS and Comcast’s NBCUniversal – claiming that the service was never properly verified with them. Shortly after the complaints surfaced, T-mobile added more channels to its intensive plans.

TVision’s passing is just the latest change in the fast-paced world of live TV broadcasting. Stalwarts Sling TV, YouTube TV and Hulu with Live TV all have increased prices by $ 5 recently and in January AT&T TV renamed and consolidated its service – and, yes, increased prices too. Now Philo, which starts at $ 20 a month with no sports or local channels, is the cheapest service of its kind.
