The Texans removed four players from their list of 90 players Monday.
Two of the movements were expected. The team announced that running back Lamar Miller and offensive lineman David Steinmetz had been placed in the casualty pool.
Miller tore his ACL in Saturday's game against the Cowboys and Steinmetz broke his ankle in training last week.
The team also announced it gave up half-corners Deante Burton and Derrick Jones. Jones was raised with an injury designation. Jones signed with the team last week as Burton played two games with Houston after being dismissed from the league last season.
The moves give Texans a head start on the moves needed to move to 53 players by the end of Saturday afternoon.
