Texas woman killed by two pitbulls attacking animal hospital

IRVING, Tx (KTVT) – A woman died from her injuries after her two pit bulls attacked her at an animal hospital in Irving, and officers who responded to the call were forced to shoot and kill dogs, the police said.

Police said police reacted to the incident at 11:45 am on Saturday at O'Connor Hospital after receiving a 9-1-1 call about the unconscious lying woman outside the hospital in a training zone.

According to police, hospital staff and intervention staff were not able to help her immediately because both dogs were still beside her. and exhibited "aggressive behavior". Police said that a policeman had been forced to shoot animals.

The woman was taken to Parkland Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was later declared dead.

She was identified as Johana Villafane, 33, of Irving.

Police said the dogs were quarantined at the hospital after an incident occurred in the beginning of the month when they apparently had bitten someone.

The attack occurred outside the hospital in an area where owners can walk and exercise their dog.

Police will continue to investigate the incident as well as the shooting death of the dogs.
