The Mad Titan Thanos was shot down and sprinkled with the rest of his army, but did he really leave for good? While many MCU fans do not hesitate to say yes, we would not be so sure. Thanos may be alive and well somewhere in the World of Souls and may plan his flight in the near future.
The world of souls is a pocket dimension in the MCU where souls reside. We even saw a scene unfold in Avengers: Infinity War when Thanos addresses the little Gamora. It was memorized to death, but it was an important scene for this theory because we have reason to believe that all those who have been dusted go to the World of Souls. If all the dusty Avengers went to the Soul World when Thanos slammed their fingers, does not that mean that Thanos is in the Soul World after the Iron Man breakdown?
