The 2021 Buick Envision is one of Buick’s only strengths

Almost all Buick models was down in sales last year in the U.S.and high time also, with double-digit losses for Enclave and Encore with big losses for discontinued models like LaCrosse, Regal and Cascada. There was at least one bright spot, however, with the Envision, which saw a modest 5 percentage gain.

The Envision 2021 is the second generation of the compact crossover / SUV type vehicle. he it looks pretty good! Buick sent us exterior photos during the summer and this week gave us the rest of the set, including the interiors. The interior looks like a Buick:

The Envision is powered by a 228-horsepower inline-four. This car is not made for off-roading, just pure, slow comfort, from driveways to parking lots. One interesting and very 2021 feature on both top trim models is an air ionizer.

Seating for five passengers is standard, with the 60/40 split second row offering the ability to fold flat with the cargo floor, for a virtually seamless transition to the seatbacks and minimal space between them. Fitting between the smaller Encore and Encore GX and the larger Enclave, the Envision has 52.7 cubic feet⁶ cargo space behind the first row seats and 25.2 cubic feet⁶ behind the second row seats.

A range of seating arrangements, in light and dark color themes, are available, including the perforated leather on Essence. Heated front seats are standard on Petrol and available on Preferred.

Additional interior features include:

• Heated steering wheel is standard on Essence and Avenir, and available on Preferred
• Air ionizer^seven is standard on Essence and Avenir, and available on Preferred. Research shows Americans spend about 10 hours a week^seven in the car. With the introduction of an air quality indicator, a first for Buick in the United States, the air ionizer offers customers peace of mind, allowing them to monitor the air quality of the passenger compartment.
• Silent setting is standard on all versions – including active noise cancellation and strategically placed acoustic materials
• Rear seat recall⁸ is standard on all versions
• Electric panoramic sunroof is available on Essence and Avenir

The Envision starts at $ 32,995, and while I can’t see it saving Buick in America – probably nothing can at this point – remember the Buick brand at this point is mostly kept for China, where Buick sells a lot. of Buick and where the Envision is made. And that’s done for me, I guess, now that I’m saying things like, “Uh, this new Buick looks pretty good.”
