The 700 horsepower Super Raptor could be the swan song of Ford Pickup

The current Ford Raptor is more or less incomparable in terms of high performance vans. This is about to change, with the threat of Hellcat-powered Ram Rebel TRX looming on the horizon.

Although the current Raptor is the best to date, there are still many fans who would happily exchange the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost for a V8, like the very first Raptors. According to Car & Driver, sources within Ford have hinted that a special edition of Raptor could appear over the next year or two years as the current truck issue.

The current F-150 must also be replaced at about this time and with him, the Raptor. Last sort of bravo for the current body style, this special Raptor would be powered by the same supercharged 5.2-liter V8 that's found in the Shelby GT500 Mustang.

In this application, it is good for 700 horses, quite close to the 707 horses of the Ram Rebel TRX engine Hellcat not to make much difference. We would be very very surprised if Ford chooses to detune the engine for use with Raptor, because it seems quite obvious that this so-called Super Raptor is designed to send the Mopar boys home, the tail tight between their legs.

Car & Driver expects this new variant of Raptor to cost around $ 70,000, once again confirming its intention to compete with the Ram Rebel TRX. The production of the two trucks will probably be very limited, the Ford to arrive at the earliest by the end of 2020, which means that it could last only two model years at most.

Detroit's power wars have now found their way off the road, and, being the power junkies we are, we could not be happier. Hoping that Chevrolet has something in his sleeve.
