The Bay Area’s 50 Michelin-starred restaurants for 2021

[ad_1]

Michelin came out with its second all-California guide, and 50 Bay Area restaurants have won the coveted stars that signify gastronomic excellence.

Six restaurants retained their three-star designation (the seventh, The Restaurant at Meadowood, was damaged by a forest fire).

In the two-star category, Baume de Palo Alto disappeared from the list altogether, while Birdsong of San Francisco went from one star to two.

The most significant changes are in the one star category. While eight new restaurants received stars, many were taken off the list either because they closed, changed focus, or were deemed not to meet Michelin standards.

New restaurants on the list or with a modified star status are listed with an asterisk.
