Labor Day is not known for its electronics sales. But that does not stop us from searching the Internet for the best prices on the latest technologies, from 4K TVs to smartwatches. And it may be the right time to buy an Apple Watch: the next edition of Apple is only two weeks away.

Although we have not heard anything concrete yet, it is possible that the fifth-generation Apple Watch will debut at this time. This could explain the increasingly aggressive price declines on Series 3 and 4 watches, with retailers selling their old stocks.

If you are ready to spend the extra money, we strongly recommend you to opt for the Series 4 GPS + Cellular. The best deal is at Amazon, which recently reduced price on the cheapest models at $ 429 for the 40mm and $ 459 for the 44mm, the lowest at the moment. It's about $ 20 cheaper than everyone else.

Adding cellular connectivity means you no longer need to carry your phone. We think this is especially useful for those who might use the Apple Watch as a fitness tracker. This is worth more than the $ 80 extra in our opinion.

Apple Watch 3 GPS series – $ 80 off

Age of a generation (and very soon two), the GPS version 3 series of the Apple Watch is getting harder and harder to find. But again, Amazon your best bet right here.

The retailer has the 38mm silver aluminum case with white sports headband model for $ 199, the lowest we could find. What do you miss in series 4? Not much: its S3 processor is slower and no ECG capability. It also has a smaller watch dial, too. But otherwise, it's a pretty solid watch, and if you want the least expensive Apple Watch, that's it.

Apple Watch Series 3 GPS + Cellular – $ 150 off

As we have said, there are bizarre price mismatches with older Apple watches, and the Series 3 GPS + Cellular is one of them. Here, Walmart by far is the least expensive option at $ 229 for the size 38mm.

But they only have 38mm. If you are looking for the biggest size 42mm, you will need to to turn to Amazon for that. Currently, the site sells the 42mm at a price of $ 309, this is unfortunately not the usual price for a price over $ 30, but it remains a good deal overall.
